What is confined spaces training?

Confined spaces training teaches workers how to identify the hazards associated with confined spaces and apply safe working procedures before, during and after entering these areas.

A confined space can present serious risks because of factors such as limited access and exit, hazardous atmospheres, insufficient oxygen, toxic gases, fire, engulfment, water, machinery or other physical hazards.

Training helps workers understand these risks, recognise when a space may require controlled entry, use appropriate PPE and safety equipment, follow safe entry and exit procedures, and respond appropriately to an emergency.

FTS Safety's confined spaces course is aligned to South African Unit Standard 15034: Work in Confined Spaces on Construction Sites and is delivered as a one-day course.

How much does confined spaces training cost?

FTS Safety's Confined Spaces Training is currently R950 per person excluding VAT. Discounts may be available for bulk bookings. Onsite training is available for groups of 5 or more learners. Contact FTS Safety for a quotation based on your group size and training requirements.

Where is confined spaces training available?

FTS Safety offers Confined Spaces Training in Durban, Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg.

Training is available through public classes and onsite workplace training, depending on learner numbers and your requirements.

Public Confined Spaces Training
