SAFETY COURSES
FTS Safety offers QCTO & SETA-accredited occupational health and safety training across South Africa, covering First Aid, Working at Heights, SHE Rep, Fire Prevention, and more. Courses run as public classes weekly in Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, or on-site at your workplace anywhere in the country.
Every course leads to an accredited certificate — proof that your staff are trained to prevent incidents and that your business meets South African OHS Act compliance requirements.
Unit Standard 120362 and 229998 1 Day Course
Trains workers to safely work at heights, including fall prevention, equipment use, and basic rescue. Suitable for employees working above 1.8m. Available weekly in Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pietermaritzburg, or on-site nationwide.
Unit Standard 119567 2 Day Course
Covers CPR, emergency response, and treatment of common workplace injuries until medical help arrives. Helps employers meet workplace first aid requirements. Available at FTS branches or on-site.
Unit Standard 120331 1 Day Course
Teaches fire prevention, hazard awareness, correct fire extinguisher use, and emergency response. Helps businesses improve workplace fire safety and OHS compliance. Available as public or on-site training.
Unit Standard 9964 1 Day Course
Prepares Safety, Health and Environment Representatives to identify hazards, conduct inspections, and report workplace risks. Supports OHS Act compliance. Available at all FTS branches and on-site.
1 Day Course
Trains flagmen to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians in construction, roadwork, and industrial environments. Ideal for sites with moving vehicles and heavy machinery. Available on-site or at FTS training centres.
Unit Standard 263456 and 263205 1 Day Course
Covers the safe erection, inspection, and use of scaffolding. Suitable for construction and industrial workers using scaffold systems. Includes practical and theoretical assessments.
Unit Standard 120344 1 Day Course
Provides an understanding of the OHS Act, workplace safety regulations, and legal responsibilities. Recommended for managers, supervisors, HR, and safety personnel.
Unit Standard 120330 1 Day Course
Teaches participants to identify workplace hazards and assess risks. Supports safety files, compliance, and risk management across multiple industries.
Unit Standard 120335 1 Day Course
Teaches how to investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Ideal for SHE reps, safety officers, and site managers.
1 Day Course
Prepares supervisors to manage construction site safety, hazard control, and daily compliance responsibilities. Designed for current and aspiring construction supervisors.

Covers the safe handling, storage, labelling, and emergency response for hazardous substances. Suitable for workplaces using chemicals or regulated materials.
Unit Standard 15034 1 Day Course
Trains workers to safely enter, work in, and exit confined spaces, including atmosphere testing and emergency procedures. Available at FTS training centres or on-site.
