The goal of SPARC is to use our time and resources to prevent fires in informal settlements and not to wait until people have been affected and lost their homes and belongings. Its not an expensive or time consuming project - its just understanding that no one wants these fires and if we teach people how to prevent them they can pass on the message. Local government is working on additional measures but education is the most effective.
