  Standard 229998 Explain and perform fall arrest techniques when working a
 t height Safety training is not just for companies who want their staff to
  be compliant. In many cases private learners what to become qualified in 
 working at heights with a certificate to enhance their CV. Often times con
 tractors need the certification for themselves. FTS Safety's public classe
 s are an easy opportunity to get a working at height certificate in a sing
 le day. Our Durban venue in Umngeni Park has plenty of safe parking behind
  a gate and with a security guard on duty. Lunch is included in the course
  price. Public classes are more interactive. You have candidates from vari
 ous companies and industries all joining together so the questions are int
 eresting and you get additional insight into the risks in different indust
 ries. The qualifying learner is capable of:Explaining the use and limitati
 ons of a limited range of fall arrest equipment and fall arrest plan.Inspe
 cting\, assembling and storing fall arrest equipment.Selecting suitable an
 chor points.Using fall arrest systems with a double lanyard.Using pre-inst
 alled vertical and horizontal life-lines. As working at height is a high r
 isk exercise you should also be medically fit and in possession of a medic
 al certificate\, declaring you free from a condition that may prevent you 
 from working safely at height What should you bring?A copy of your ID docu
 mentSafety shoes or bootsA harnessAppropriate clothing for climbing on lad
 ders or scaffolding on a worksite Your certificate will be emailed within 
 7 days. If you require proof that you have attended immediately please let
  the course facilitator know on the morning of training.
